African Disabilities Corporation: Empowering Women

Founder’s Story

A Woman Helping Women Rise

AfricanDisabilities was founded by a woman who understands, firsthand, how the body can change — and how dignity, care, and support can shape recovery, resilience, and self-worth.

As a woman, survivor, artist, and global advocate, the founder’s journey is rooted in lived experience. Navigating health challenges, recovery, and the emotional realities of womanhood revealed a deeper truth: when women are unsupported during moments of vulnerability, the impact lasts far beyond the physical body.

That understanding became the foundation of AfricanDisabilities.

Why Women With Disabilities in Africa

Across many African communities, women with disabilities face compounded barriers — limited access to healthcare, mobility resources, social inclusion, and economic opportunity. Too often, disability is met with silence, stigma, or neglect.

AfricanDisabilities was created to challenge that reality.

The mission is simple but urgent:

support women with disabilities with dignity, respect, and access — not pity.

Lived Experience, Not Charity

AfricanDisabilities is not rooted in saviorism or distant charity. It is rooted in empathy, shared humanity, and respect for women’s strength.

The founder believes that women with disabilities are not broken — they are underserved.

This belief shapes every decision, from the programs supported to the language used, ensuring women are centered as capable, resilient individuals deserving of independence and opportunity.

A Women-Led Community-Driven Vision

As a creative entrepreneur and advocate working across the U.S. and Africa, the founder understands the importance of sustainability, transparency, and community partnership.

AfricanDisabilities operates as a women-led humanitarian initiative focused on:

  • Mobility and independence
  • Women’s health and dignity
  • Economic empowerment

The goal is not temporary relief, but lasting impact driven by access and opportunity.

Looking Forward

AfricanDisabilities is growing with intention — building partnerships, supporting women directly, and laying the groundwork for long-term sustainability.

This work is personal.

This work is purposeful.

And this work is just beginning.
