About African Disabilities

Togo is still categorized as a Least Developed Country and Low Income Food Deficit Country in West Africa.  After my visit to Togo in July 2022 it was hard to watch so many people in need.  So we decided to do something about it.  A team was formed to help the people in Togo that needed help.  I met people who needed help with paying for hospital visits, with paying for prescriptions, who needed their rent paid, who needed walking aids, who needed food and clothing, paying for physical therapy sessions, paying for fibroid surgery, and more.  Togo is located on West Africa coast and the capital is Lomé.  It is bordered by Ghana to the West and Benin to the East and Burkina Faso in the North.  The languages are French and Ewe.  Togo remains one of the poorest countries in sub-Saharan Africa with a life expectancy is 60 years old for men and 62 years old for women.  In Togo there is no social services program, soup kitchen or food pantry.  So people are left to fend for themselves.
