African Disabilities:Empowering Communities, changing lives.

Our Story

We are a Togo-based non-profit organization working with our US headquartered not for profit organization committed to creating opportunities, providing support, and advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, woman, and children from low-income households.  Together we are building inclusive communities where everyone can thrive.

Who We Are

Founded on the belief that everyone deserves dignity, respect, and equal opportunity, our organization works at the  grassroots level to uplift marginalized individuals and families across Togo.  We focus on empowering people with disabilities and supporting vulnerable children through education, healthcare, and community-based initiatives.

What We Do

Disability Advocacy and Support:

We provide assistive devices, access to vocational training, and advocate for disability rights and inclusion.

Woman's Empowerment

Through skills training, microfinance opportunity, and health education, we help woman build sustainable livelihoods and become agents of change in their communities.

Child Welfare and Education

We support school enrollment, offer nutritional aid, and run child protection programs to safeguard the rights and futures of vulnerable children.

Meet

  • Kossi Germain Ameganvi was born in the village of Ntifafa in Tsevie. Germain is 15 years old and he is in secondary school. He has been suffering with bilateral club foot since birth.  Unfortunately his parents were unable to treat his condition at birth. Currently, his feet are developing with many complications that makes him difficult to walk. Ameganvi mother's, a poor lady who is solely responsible for the entire family has a small business selling goods in the streets, and can no longer support the education of her son, who is very devoted to school. Kossi Germian has to undergo surgery which is very expensive. Due to the lack of resources, Kossi Germain is forced to move on his club foot and is now suffering from a large wound. He also experiences difficulty  handling the teasing of his classmates in school.  African Disabilities goal is to help Kossi Germain have surgery to correct his clubfoot and live an active normal life.
